Merger and acquisition

In 2021, worldwide mergers and acquisitions (M&A) accounted for 1,800 billion euros. If we had to single out just one transaction from this flourishing year-end, it would undoubtedly be the merger of Atelier Krauss and Pierre Audat & Associés. A horizontal, i.e. friendly, merger between two structures that play on their complementary strengths to extend their field of action. Founded in 2009 by Itamar Krauss, Atelier Krauss has developed its activity around new housing and equipment, with projects in Saint-Denis Bordeaux and currently in Mantes la Jolie. Pierre Audat & Associés, meanwhile, has been carrying out numerous renovation projects in the city since 2000, including apartments, stores, community centers and scenography. Between the historic city center and the metropolitan area, between creation within the existing and creation ex nihilo, the new structure covers a vast territory of operations.

A parallel fusion is taking place between the personalities of the two partners. Pierre Audat, a tireless surveyor of metropolitan wastelands, where he tracks down the convulsive beauty of chance telescopes, fertile cohabitations between architectural ducks and decorated sheds, attentive to the ready-mades that daily transmute the banal into art.

A lover of natural wines, Itamar Krauss borrows his calm, contemplative character from the vine. Respectful of the landscape, the vineyards draw the best from a territory in an apparent immobility, made of weaving, clinging, weft and spatial organization.

Every company has to state its raison d’être. Audat Krauss is unapologetic about its mission: to create buildings that serve the needs of residents and clients, without abandoning its role as architect. Audat Krauss was not created to perpetuate the status quo and add boredom to boredom. Every project must be an opportunity to improve life, even if it means upsetting a site to fit in better. For Audat Krauss, architecture must be a constructive and artistic gesture. The merger of Atelier Krauss and Pierre Audat & Associés gives two companies and two sensibilities the energy to continue down the road with confidence and ambition. As the American carpenters used to say: Have Hammer, will travel… We have the tools, we make the commitments.
