BBC Environmental approach - preservation of existing buildings, re-use, dry process

Enhance these spaces by respecting and highlighting their architectural and artisanal heritage.

Although the interior of the building is not subject to any specific heritage protection, its rooms and spaces remain emblematic of the late 19th century, authentically reflecting the lifestyle and aesthetics of the Parisian bourgeoisie of that era. Each architectural and decorative element bears witness to the craftsmanship and elegance characteristic of the period.

Thus, this project aims to enhance these spaces by respecting and highlighting their architectural and artisanal heritage. It seeks to preserve the site’s identity while incorporating contemporary arrangements designed to provide users with a living environment that is both comfortable and functional. This renovation also emphasizes flexibility of use, allowing for technical, environmental, and ergonomic adaptations in line with modern requirements.

One of the major focuses of this intervention is the revitalization of the courtyard, with particular attention paid to the harmonious reintegration of the 1960s extension into the overall composition. This work includes redesigning the veranda, whose current, ungraceful integration disrupts the architectural coherence of the site. Additionally, the enhancement of open spaces is accompanied by a thoughtful approach to greenery, aiming to introduce more natural elements and create a harmonious dialogue between the building and its environment

As with every project we undertake, we draw inspiration from the original elements that remain visible, true witnesses of the site’s history. By respecting and reinterpreting these heritage fragments, we strive to anchor this renovation in a sensitive and lasting approach, where memory and modernity blend harmoniously.
